How my faith shapes the way I live my life...

Beliefs express themselves in all aspects of a person's life. I'll use this page to describe how my own convictions have influenced my life and how they shape my daily activities.
I believe that all things great and small have a purpose, even though not always understood and obvious to the naked eye and the general thought patterns of us humans. There is a greater good that oversees us and all that is. I believe that there is a plan in place for our continued existance, and that this plan contains many forms of communication to us. We are spiritual beings by nature wether or not you choose to believe in God, Mother Earth, or any other form of spiritual context.I shall not be judged for my beliefs, nor shall I judge upon yours. I shall have the freedom of religion and /or spiritual beliefs, as shall you. This is guaranteed under the four freedoms. . I am of Native American decent, and do not practice the spiritual aspects on a continual basis. I do however, have a very strong belief system and exercise judgements and my actions as often as I feel the need to connect spiritualy with Mother Earth, and all that is around me. Wether you are praying to God, Jesus, Mohamad, or your Forefathers, really makes no difference when things are put into perspective. You seek guidance, forgiveness, hope, and everlasting strength in your beliefs. You continually look for a better and brighter tommorow, and hope that you gain the wisdom to carry on and teach the young, and to make a future for those that we leave behind. I feel that we all are looking for and believe in the same things, just in a different manner. What one sees in a statue of Christ, another may see in a vision of buffulo. Each individual aspect is tied to a different meaning for the one that is enlightened by spiritual content. Do I believe that the white wolf is my savior...no. but do believe that when I have a vision of this creature, that there is something about to take place that could and usually is life altering. I see the white wolf as a messanger, a protector and when his presence is known, I pay attention as he carries a meaning with him. Do I believe that the mighty tree is my brother...no..but it is a symbol of strength, endourance and continued life here on Mother Earth. I have always had a connection to the outdoors. It is a great piece of who I am and all that I am made up of. I find my inner strength and tranquility comes from my time spent in the wilds and isolation. I feel the connection to Mother Earth, and she is always pulling me back, closer to her each time that I stray from my norm.

Passage of the Day
"In dwelling, be close to the land. In meditation, go deep in the heart. In dealing with others, be gentle and kind. In speech, be true. In ruling, be just. In daily life, be competent. In action, be aware of the time and the season." - Lao Tzu
Commentary:
I often find myself obsessing on things which don't really matter. This passage, taken from "Tao Te Ching," reminds me that the basic principles of life can and should be simple.
